The key points in brief
- This is a purely static website. It provides information about our apps and forwards you to the app stores.

- No third-party content is embedded: fonts and images are hosted on our own server; there are no requests to Google Fonts, no maps, no videos and no social media plug-ins.
- The only data generated when you visit are the technical access data (server log files) that our hosting provider IONOS stores for a short time for security reasons.
- If you contact us by e-mail, we process your message in order to handle your request.
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator, Shipping Games UG (haftungsbeschränkt). You will find the contact details in the section "Controller".
How do we collect your data?
Technical access data are collected automatically by our hosting provider's IT systems when you access the website (see "Hosting"). Apart from that, we only receive data that you provide to us yourself, for example when you send us an e-mail.
What do we use your data for?
The technical access data are used exclusively for the secure and trouble-free operation of the website. We do not analyse your usage behaviour. Data from e-mail enquiries are used only to answer your request.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of these data, to request the restriction of processing, to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. 2. Hosting
IONOS
This website is hosted by an external service provider (hosting provider):
IONOS SE
Elgendorfer Str. 57
56410 Montabaur
Germany
The servers on which the website is operated are located in Germany. The hosting provider processes the data generated when the website is accessed exclusively on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. We have concluded a data processing agreement with IONOS pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
We use the hosting provider in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Further information can be found in the IONOS privacy policy.
Server log files
When you access the website, the hosting provider automatically collects information that your browser transmits and stores it in so-called server log files. These are:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- the requested URL (page or file)
- the HTTP status code
- the amount of data transferred
- the referrer URL (previously visited page, if transmitted by your browser)
- browser type and version and the operating system used
These data are not merged with other data sources and are not used to identify you personally. The processing serves to ensure system security and stability (e.g., to defend against attacks and to analyse errors) and is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and technically error-free operation of the website.
The log files are deleted after a short period – generally within a few weeks – unless longer retention is necessary in an individual case to investigate a security incident. In that case the data concerned are kept until the incident has been fully resolved.
3. General information and mandatory information
Data protection
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations – in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) – and this privacy policy.
Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g., when communicating by e-mail) may have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.

Legal bases for processing
We process personal data on this website on the following legal bases:
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest): for the technical access data (server log files) and for answering general enquiries;
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual measures): where your e-mail enquiry relates to a contract or serves the implementation of pre-contractual measures.
No processing based on consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) takes place on this website, as we do not use any services that require consent.
Retention period
Unless a more specific retention period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for erasure, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing them (e.g., retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion takes place once these reasons no longer apply.
Recipients and transfers to third countries
The only recipient of the data generated when you visit the website is our hosting provider IONOS SE, acting as a processor with servers in Germany. This website does not transfer your data to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. If you leave our website via an external link (e.g., to the Apple App Store or Google Play), the privacy policy of the respective provider applies (see "External links").
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser begins with "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser bar. When encryption is activated, the data transmitted between your browser and our server cannot be read by third parties.
No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
4. Data collection on this website
Server log files
The only data collected automatically when you visit this website are the server log files described in the section "Hosting".
No cookies, no tracking
This website does not use cookies or comparable technologies (e.g., tracking pixels or fingerprinting). No analytics, statistics or advertising services are embedded and your usage behaviour is not analysed. A cookie banner is therefore not required.
No embedded third-party content
All fonts, images, style sheets and scripts of this website are delivered from our own server. When you access the website, your browser does not connect to third-party servers – in particular, no fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and no maps, videos or social media content are embedded.
Forwarding to the app stores (page /hp/)
The page www.shipping-games.com/hp/ serves as a short link to our app. When you open this page, a small script in your browser checks the browser identifier (user agent) to determine whether you are using an iOS or an Android device and forwards you to the matching store page (Apple App Store or Google Play). This check takes place exclusively locally in your browser. No data are transmitted to us and no data are stored by us; only the normal page request occurs, which appears in the hosting provider's server log files like any other page request. After forwarding, the privacy policy of the respective store provider applies.
Contact by e-mail or telephone
There is no contact form on this website. If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process the data you provide (e.g., your e-mail address, your name and the content of your message) exclusively to handle your request and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass these data on to third parties without your consent.
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We delete the data of your enquiry as soon as they are no longer required for handling it – generally once the correspondence has been completed – and no statutory retention obligations (e.g., for business correspondence) prevent deletion.
5. External links
Links to the Apple App Store and Google Play
On this website we link to the pages of our apps in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. These are plain links; merely visiting our website does not transmit any data to Apple or Google. Only when you click such a link do you leave our website. From that point on, the respective providers are responsible for the processing of your data:
- Apple App Store (Apple Inc. and its affiliates): Apple Privacy Policy
- Google Play (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited): Google Privacy Policy
Other external links
Where we link to other external websites, we have no influence on their content and data processing. Please refer to the privacy notices of the respective providers.
6. Your rights

Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, their origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR). If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.
Withdrawal of your consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). The lawfulness of the processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected. We currently do not use any consent-based processing on this website.
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process the personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).
Where your personal data are processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing; this also applies to profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct marketing (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
